Bluepoint Games was acquired by PlayStation Studios in 2021 after developing major remakes and remasters of acclaimed titles like Demon’s Souls and Shadow of the Colossus. However, since the release of the remake of the precursor to Dark Souls, we haven’t seen more about what the company is developing. At the time, it was said that Bluepoint Games was working on an original game, and today this has been reiterated. You may even want to use magically-infused weapons to deal extra damage.

There is still a lot of charm to the PS3 version’s gloomy, green-tinged aesthetic, but these are art assets built to the technical limitations of the era.
Demon’s Souls Remake Is Officially Coming To The Pc [update]

Sometimes the graphical fidelity — high-resolution textures, mood-setting lighting and shadows, impressive weather effects — creates a dissonance with game mechanics imported wholesale from 11 years ago. Every texture in Demon’s Souls has been painstakingly repainted, sometimes to the point of questionable reinterpretation. Every stilted animation appears to have been replaced by three or four new ones, all of them remixed with more lifelike flourishes. Many of the original game’s points of aggravation, like long load times and frequent backtracking, have been softened or nearly eliminated. But rarely does Bluepoint muck with the foundation of Demon’s Souls, because to do so would be sacrilege. As you can see in the above video by YouTube creator PanFro Games, some builds with the Meat Cleaver are incredibly broken because of how the weapon can continuously stagger enemies, preventing them from ever striking back.
And considering how great the original Demon’s Souls was, the Demon’s Souls remake on PS5 is an easy recommendation. Imagine one of the best and most influential games ever made, but with significantly improved graphics, and that sums up the Demon’s Souls remake perfectly. It’s the PlayStation 5’s first must-have exclusive game, and it should leave fans very excited to see what developer Bluepoint Games decides to work on next.
