Previously compassionate, kind and fair Peter Parker has become aggressive, ruthless, even bloodthirsty. He also gained new, powerful abilities that seem to be related to his strange black costume. I can’t say that I noticed one dropped frame in my dozens of hours of playing. TG88 allows Spider-Man 2 to shine in its most jaw-dropping moments – of which the main story offers many – as explosive action, sparkling electrical effects, and fittingly slimy symbiote gloop fill the screen.

This Spider-Bot, JJJ, can be found close to the Northern border of Greenwich. On the map screen, locate the building that looks like a chevron arrow pointing South-West (called Glam). You’ll be looking for a building to the North-East of it on the corner of an intersection, close to where a wind tunnel snakes around to the North. The Spider-Bot will be crawling near the top of the South-Eastern wall. Collecting them all will unlock a cool and unique quest you don’t want to miss, which you can read about at the bottom of this page.

Visit An Expanded Marvel’s New York

According to a massive leak in 2023, the studio’s roadmap revealed that it was aiming to release Marvel’s Wolverine in 2026, followed by Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 in 2028. Although there was an almost four-year gap between the launch of Marvel’s Spider-Man on the PlayStation 4 and Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered on PC, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 fans won’t have to wait as long. Insomniac confirmed back in October 2024 that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 would be coming to PC on January 30, 2025. Spider-Man 3 is shaping up to be all about the Green Goblin and a returning Doc Ock.

Kraven A Better Story

After Peter purged the symbiote from his body and it bonded to Eddie, Venom possessed all of Spider-Man’s abilities, but with greater physical capacity. To make him even more deadly, Eddie became aware of Peter’s secret identity from the symbiote’s time bonded to Spider-Man, and he gained the ability to nullify Spider-Man’s heightened senses. Of all the enemies that Peter Parker and Miles Morales face in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, few are as terrifying and relentless as Venom. Powered by an extraterrestrial symbiote, the villain threatens all of Marvel’s New York over the course of the game and pushes the Spider-Men to the very limit.

For it to count you have to activate these abilities DURING a Symbiote Surge (after the yellow bar in top right is fully charged and you pressed + to activate it). If you use these abilities without enabling Symbiote Charge it won’t count. 4 of them are automatically unlocked from story progress (unmissable) and 2 are bought from Peter’s skill tree. While the Symbiote Surge is active you have to trigger Symbiote Abilities a total of 25 times. Equip 4 of these abilities and make sure they are all charged and ready before activating the Surge. Then you can spam all 4 abilities in quick succession before the Surge ends.

This port also supports ultrawide screens and playing on three monitors. All of this contributes to fighting back against crime in each district of New York, a city now twice the size of what we’ve seen before including the leafy residential roads of Queens and the bustling borough of Brooklyn. There are 14 unique districts, each with its own set of objectives to complete before you can unlock fast travel to that part of the map. Gliding is especially great for crossing long distances thanks to the numerous wind tunnels that carve their way through New York’s seemingly endless grid of streets flanked by art deco architecture and modern mirror-like skyscrapers. There are also smaller stories at play, though, ones that may seem less important when compared to city-wide chaos, but feel like potential world-enders to those who inhabit it. It’s the best-written story in the series yet (if still a bit cheesy at times), with performances worthy of the script.

She’s a gifted assassin specializing in hand-to-hand and bladed combat. The game introduces exciting new abilities and traversal options like Symbiote Surge and Web Wings. Additionally, the game expanded Marvel’s New York, offering new boroughs and a variety of side missions for players to dive into and explore. Due to an error from the franchise, the game is currently unavailable for pre-order on Steam and Epic Games.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 features a total of 32 main story missions that has you play as both Miles and Peter as they protect New York from various threats old and new, including the ferocious symbiote, Venom.
